Hopalong Cassidy Trail

The Hopalong Cassidy Trail in Palm Desert CA is a challenging 8.3-mile hike with a 1,345-foot elevation change. Its address is at Painters Path, Palm Desert, CA 92260. Named for a famous film cowboy from the 1940s and 1950s, this trail is also a favorite among local residents. Known for its beautiful scenery, the trail is open to the sun and dogs are welcome, but keep in mind that dogs are not allowed.

One of the best hikes in Palm Desert is the Hopalong Cassidy Trail, which is a moderately difficult route that goes up and down canyons. The views are spectacular, and the trail offers excellent views of the Coachella Valley. At the halfway point, the Hopalong Cassidy trail merges with the Herb Jeffries and runs south and southwest. The trail continues to the west. The flora along the trail is spectacular. Barrels cactus, creosote, and cholla dominate the landscape.

To reach the Hopalong Cassidy Trail, take California Hwy. 111 and go east. From there, take a left turn and you’ll reach the park’s parking lot. From here, you can access the Mike Schuler Trail, a 3.5-mile long trail in Palm Desert. It’s best to start your hike by following the signs pointing to the trailhead.

A short drive away is the Art Smith Trail. From here, head west and take the trail west away from Highway 74. This trail has a steep half-mile climb and a mile-and-a-half-long downhill section. It eventually reaches the Herb Jeffries Trail, which heads south and southwest. From here, the trail turns west, taking you to the Stone Eagle Golf Club and Palm Desert Cross.

The Hopalong Cassidy Trail is a popular hiking trail in Palm Desert. The 9.5-mile round-trip trail is popular among hikers and mountain-biking enthusiasts. You can access it from Calif. Hwy. 111. The trail is straight to the north, and the Mike Schuler Road will take you to the park. The distance between these two trails is a little over a mile.

The Hopalong Cassidy Trail is a moderately difficult hike through the San Jacinto Mountains. The path ascends and descends canyons, and offers panoramic views of the Coachella Valley. The trail junctions with the Herb Jeffries and Mike Schuler trails. The Herb Jeffries and Mike Schuler trails are parallel to each other. Aside from being very scenic, the two trails also offer many different kinds of flora.

This 8.3 mile route begins at the Art Smith Trailhead and ends at the Hopalong Cassidy Trail. The Herb Jeffries Trail is a tribute to the late, legendary “bronze Buckaroo” Herb Jeffries. A former Palm Desert resident, the Herb Jeffries Trail is a popular hiking and biking trail. During the summer, the trails are dotted with cacti, and the Herb Jeffries Train provides a scenic view of the San Jacinto Mountains.
